About the West Kershaw Methodist Circuit
HISTORY
The West Kershaw Circuit is an organization of three Methodist Churches serving west Kershaw county. Our mission is to spread the teachings of Jesus Christ and create a welcoming community for all. We believe in the power of faith, compassion, and service to make a positive impact on the lives of our members and the local community.
WORSHIP
We believe that coming together in worship to offer thanks and praise to God is central to our relationship with Him. Our traditional service includes reading and expounding on the written word of God but there is also spontaneous prayer and we welcome casual attire.
We celebrate Communion on the 1st Sunday of every month and on special days.
Methodists are also a singing people so our music includes traditional hymns, old-time gospel, African-American spirituals, and contemporary songs of faith. God’s blessings are evident in our worship.
OUR VISION
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…” – Matt. 28:19
This we do by proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ that extends God’s grace through the ministries of nurture, outreach, and witness for the transformation of the world. As Methodists, we find balance in the traditional Wesleyan use of Scripture, Tradition, Reason, and Experience with scripture as primary.
